Itinerary

Day 1: Mhamid– Mezouaria

Our Morocco camel trek will begin from our basecamp in M'Hamid El Ghizlane. You can either arrive in the morning or stay in our basecamp the night before (free delicious breakfast). We will greet you with tea (as is our custom) and discuss the journey ahead to make sure you have everything you need for the camel trek.

After meeting your new camel friends and packing the necessary equipment, we will embark a few hours before sunset. It won't take long to find yourself immersed in the endless small dunes of the Moroccan desert. Along the way, you may see wildlife from small scarab beetles to the elusive desert fox. We will tell you about the local plants including hardy tamarisk trees, a rare plant whose milk can cause blindness, and wild chamomile flowers (which camels love to eat!).

As the sky begins to change colors with the sinking sun, we will hike up a tall dune to experience a breathtaking sunset. In the blue light of twilight, we will continue a short way to our camp and make a campfire under the stars. Sit with us to learn about the Berber way of life, our music, and stories. We will prepare for you a delicious dinner (vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options available, but please let us know before you come!). After eating, you can stargaze and then rest in the peaceful desert in one of our comfortable multicolored tents with cozy beds.

Day 2: Mezouaria – Mhamid

Breathing in the sweet morning air of the desert, you will wake up refreshed and ready to start our journey home. You have the option of getting up early to watch an unforgettable sunrise over the sand dunes. After a traditional breakfast, our Morocco camel trekking tour will begin again. In the beautiful morning light, you will see tracks from small desert animals in the sand. We will arrive at our basecamp at around 10.00 am. Here our Sahara desert adventure concludes.
